How it works

Short guides to the things you do every day.

Make Shorts from a stream

Paste a stream, and Clipfinder finds the moments worth posting.

  1. On your dashboard, choose From a stream, then Shorts.
  2. Paste a Twitch or Kick link, or click Browse a Twitch channel to pick a past stream.
  3. Click Make shorts. Under Processing timeframe, pick the part of the stream to use. Add anything you want found under Include specific moments.
  4. Click Analyze. You can close the tab: your clips will be on the job page when they're ready.
  5. Open a clip with Edit clip, or use Export to save it.

Make long-form YouTube videos

One stream becomes 4 to 6 finished YouTube videos.

  1. On your dashboard, choose From a stream, then Long-form.
  2. Paste a Twitch or Kick link, or browse a channel's past streams, then click Make videos.
  3. Pick a Video length: Short, Medium, Long, or Supercut for the whole stream condensed. Add a Direction if you have something in mind.
  4. Click Analyze. Your videos appear on the job page, with Shorts from the same stream below them.
  5. Click Edit video on a card to change it, or Export the video to save it.

Bring in a YouTube video

Clipfinder can't take YouTube links, so upload the file instead.

  1. In YouTube Studio, open Content, click the video's ⋮ menu, then Download.
  2. On your dashboard, click Upload a video and pick the file, or drag it onto the page.
  3. Choose your options and click Analyze.

Files in Google Drive work too: use the Google Drive button.

Edit a clip

Frame it, caption it, cut it, then export. Changes save as you go.

  1. On a clip card, click Edit clip (the pencil).
  2. Frame: pick a layout (Fullscreen, Letterbox, Half and half or Facecam) and drag the crops into place.
  3. Captions: turn captions on, then set the font, size and colours.
  4. Cut: drag the timeline handles or delete words in the transcript. Remove silences tightens the clip in one click.
  5. Effects: add a Hook, Zoom, Logo, End card and more.
  6. Export: pick 9:16 or 16:9, click Export, then Save the file.

Save a look as a template

Style one clip, and the next ones come out matching.

  1. Get one clip looking right in the editor.
  2. On the Export tab, click Save as a template, choose the parts to keep, name it and click Save template.
  3. To use it on another clip, click Use a template at the top of the editor.
  4. To use it on every new job, open Settings, then Templates, and star it.

Edit a long-form video

Change a video by asking for it, or by hand on the timeline.

  1. On a video card, click Edit video.
  2. Type a change into Edit with AI, like "cut the menu part", and send it.
  3. Or edit by hand: Remove silences, Beep all swears, split at the playhead, and add text, zooms and sound effects.
  4. Version history keeps every change, so you can restore any version.
  5. On the Export tab, click Export, then Download.

Publish to YouTube and TikTok

Post straight from Clipfinder, now or later.

  1. Open Connections in the sidebar and click Connect YouTube or Connect TikTok.
  2. On a clip, click Publish. Under Where to, tick YouTube or TikTok. Under When, pick Now or Schedule.
  3. Fill in the details and click Publish (Post on TikTok).

Publishing is on paid plans. On the free plan you can still export the file and upload it yourself. Long-form videos publish to YouTube.

Schedule posts on the calendar

See every scheduled post in one place.

  1. Open Calendar in the sidebar.
  2. Click Schedule post, or an empty slot, then pick a clip and set the time.
  3. Click any post to change its title or time, or to cancel it.
